Thank you for visiting A Door of Hope!

A Door of Hope was birthed in 2012 after a dear friend recommended I embrace my new role as a stay-at-home mom and use some of my free time to write.

Unbeknownst to my friend and I, God would use writing as a form of healing for me.

My husband and I experienced heartache and pain after a miscarriage in 2011.  The months thereafter were filled with sorrow and a tumultuous battle with anxiety.  While in the valley of trouble, journaling became a faithful practice. Writing during such a hopeless season helped me walk over the threshold into the hope-filled life God desired for me.

Today, my husband and I are blessed to have two beautiful children.  We call New York City our home, and we are privileged to serve on the pastoral staff at an incredible local church.  God has truly given us beauty for ashes!

As I blog, I desire to share excerpts of my journal notes, along with past and present experiences, in hopes to encourage anyone who is in a valley of trouble. Trust me – a door of hope awaits you!

“Therefore I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her.  There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope” (Hosea 2:14-15).

Praying for you,

Natalie Nieves
